Mr. & Miss Gay Portland Raise $801.00 for A.M.E. Fund

On Sunday, March 22, 2009, Mr. Gay Portland Glitter John and Miss Gay Portland Felicity Carmichaels hosted the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court's annual Closet Ball.  Contestants of the event were presented to the judges as men and then were sent backstage and given 1 hour to transform themselves into the image of a beautiful woman.

During their transformation, various titleholders and entertainers took the stage and delighted the audiences of the Darcelle XV Showplace.  The $5.00 cover charge and all the entertainer's tips (totaling $801.00) were donated to the Audria M. Edwards Scholarship Fund.

The winner of Closet Ball 2009 was our very own Maurice (Maria's nephew).  His drag name was Priscilla Blackstone his sponsor was none other than Rose Empress XXXIII Patti O'Dora.  Congratulations Priscilla and Patti and thank you so much to the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court and most especially Mr. Gay Portland Glitter John and Miss Gay Portland Felicity Carmichaels for a wonderful evening!
